Helpful information
_Demers was born in 1956, in a small, rural community of Lunenburg, Massachusetts.  His maritime experience came about as a crew member aboard many traditional sailing vessels, and he continues to be an avid sailor.  He began his career as a illustrator, after attending the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.  He expanded his career into the field of fine art, and his paintings have been included in many publications and books, including  Marine Painting, Techniques of Modern Masters published by Watson Guptill and Bound for Blue Water written by J. Russell Jinishian.

This 5 day oil painting workshop will be a great learning experience in plein air landscape and marine painting techniques.  Demers is recognized for his communicating skills and is world renowned as a teacher as well as an extraordinary painter.  The workshop will be long and demanding with 10 hour days (including a good mid day break), and participants must have oil painting experience, especially plein air.  He will also do a couple of sunrise and sunset sessions for those in the group that choose to join him.  One or two demos will be done each day and a lot of personal attention will be given to each participant.  Evening hours will be spent with the participants, talking about art over dinner gatherings.
