61st Annual Members' Exhibition

The 61st Annual Members’ Exhibition October 16 – November 30, 2008                       

The most popular tradition in the history of the Quinlan, the annual Members' Exhibition showcases the work of the different member-artists from Gainesville, Atlanta and beyond and each year marks another season of unparalleled excellence in visual arts programming. The exhibition will be on view through November 20th and is a dazzling and eclectic array of art in all media including landscapes, abstracts, still life compositions, portraits, ceramics, wood turnings and much, much more. The opening reception will be Thursday, October 16th from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Ribbons will be awarded for Best of Show, First, Second, and Third places as well as several Honorable Mentions.

We are honored to have as our judge for thi s our most important annual exhibition, Juror William Eiland, Director of the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens, Georgia. He took a B.A. (summa cum laude) from Birmingham-Southern College and a M.A. and PhD. fromt he University of Virginia. He has also edited and contributed to more than 50 puplications, including Art Papers, Georgia Journal, US Art, Ceramics Monthly, Southern Antiques and English Literature in Transition. Eiland earned the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia Association of Museums and Galleries in 2007 and was named 2000 Museum Professional of the Year by the Georgia Associatin of Musuems and Galleries and 1999 Outstanding Museum Professional by the Southeast College Art Conference. He also served as the vice chairman of the American Association of Museums in 2004-2005.
