Bird’s Nest Invitational, 2010
![]() New Day by Roseta Santiago The Bird’s Nest Invitational is a special exhibition for spring 2010. Inspired by artist Roseta Santiago’s recent series of bird’s nest paintings—and the feelings evoked by this powerful symbol of security and comfort, yet also the excitement of first flights—we invite you to submit up to two pieces (drawings, paintings, photography or sculpture) relating to these themes. Two dimensional works need to be no larger than 528 inches square each or about approximately 22x24 inches. (Sculpture should not exceed 24" in any direction.) Pieces will be juried by Roseta Santiago. Hard copies of photographs will not be accepted. Artwork requirements:Each artist may enter up to two pieces of original artwork that is theme-relevant . Artwork must be no larger than 22x24. The director reserves the right to choose not to display any piece of artwork presented for exhibition. Entries must be original in concept, composition and execution. Artwork must not be copied, in part or wholly, from any published or copyrighted work. Media ReleaseThe Quinlan reserves the right to photograph artwork for publicity purposes and for reproduction in relevant publications and the website. Sale of ArtworkIt is preferable that exhibited works be for sale. Prices listed on the entry form are binding. Artist may NOT alter the listed price on accepted works. Artist commission for this show shall be 55%. The Quinlan will retain 35% and 10% shall be given to Elachee Nature Science Center. Binding ContractAll information on the original entry must remain the same on the accepted entry. Art substitutions are not permitted. This application for entry is a binding contract. All accepted works are expected to appear in the show at the listed price entered on application. Art Preparation and ShippingAll two-dimensional pieces must be ready to hang, wired, framed or gallery-wrapped. Saw tooth is unacceptable. Accepted artists must make the necessary arrangements for the shipment of all artworks both to and from the Quinlan and are solely responsible for allowing adequate shipping time. The Quinlan shall not be held liable for damages of any kind which may occur while work is in transit and is not responsible for artwork storage. Early removal of artwork is prohibited. Any artwork that is unclaimed will become the property of the Quinlan 30 days after the date of exhibition closing. |
