This course will introduce students to basic methods and media involved in drawing. The content will emphasize drawing from observation, development of negative/positive space, shape, composition, line, edge development and  understanding of value and composition.

Class Options for Home Schooled & Private Groups

Art History course - 1 ½ hour each (8 sessions) daily or weekly as scheduled.
$70.00 non-members $50.00 members * 5 student minimum

1. Prehistoric / ancient
2. Four continents / out of the dark ages
3. Renaissance plus / rococo to realism
4. Impressionism / post impressionism
5. Expressionism / cubism
6. Dada, surrealism, constructivism
7. Abstract, pop, minimalism
8. Gallery tour art identification and review

Studio classes - 1 ½ hour each schedule to suit *4 student minimum
1. Basic paint mixing (oil or acrylic) supplies included - see Quinlan class schedule for pricing
2. Knowing your own palate - students will bring their own paints or supplies are available at
PenDragon Fine Art Supply located at the Quinlan
and brushes to create their own color identification/recipe chart .
Watercolor is best but whatever they work with will be fine. ($10.00 min of 5 students)
3. Color wheel and value - supplies included ($10.00 min of 5 students)
4. Studio 001 - positive and negative space, placement and design,
light/dark and warm/cold - supplies included ($10.00 min of 5 students)

Projects in day $20.00 each (schedule a date)
1. Journal making - some supplies needed
2. Mosaic - encrusting a small object - supplies included
3. Stained glass - dragonfly - supplies included
4. Painting - subject to be decided by class - supplies included
5. Encaustic - bring a smaller or 8x10 picture frame with glass
6. Up cycling - mystery project (sewing/gluing)
7. Felties - all supplies included (sewing)
