Kristopher Meadows - Painting the Nude Figure Simply

Picture
This workshop will concentrate on the fundamentals in creating a solid figural painting that is well executed using the basic elements of Shape, Value, Edges and Color (SVEC). By studying the SVEC of your subject students can create anything they see without feeling overwhelmed by complicated forms especially those of the human figure. A clear, sequential course of action will be presented which students can use when approaching any subject from portraits and figures to even landscapes and still lifes. The first night will include a demo from a live model while the instructor simultaneously discusses his thought processes in the creation of a solid figural painting. The following 3 days will be dedicated to students working from the live model accompanied by brief lectures and short demos by the instructor to help students move beyond 'blocks' when approaching the figure.
