The Quinlan proudly supports the 7th Annual Art in the Square Festival! A popular event that has grown since it began, Art In the Square is a celebration of local artists on the historic downtown square. Be sure to save Saturday, September 18th and plan to join the citizenry of Gainesville for a fun day featuring booths full of paintings, ceramics, jewelry and much more. With over 100 artists planning to exhibit, Art in the Square is FULL!

for Saturday, September 18, in Downtown Gainesville
Excerpt from Gainesville Times author Shannon Casas featured in today's local section "On Monday afternoon, Art in the Square officials were busy painting a banner to advertise the upcoming seventh annual festival.The banner will hang on the Georgia Mountains Center’s parking deck,
advertising what has become a tradition for Gainesville’s art scene.This year, officials expect about 100 artists will be displaying and
selling their crafts, including pottery, jewelry, painting and

Monday afternoon at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, to be hung on a

This
course focuses on etching using non-hazardous materials. Students will
learn the techniques of etching and the safe use of materials and
equipment in a studio setting. A portfolio review seminar will be
included to help students analyze their work. John is an assistant
professor of art at Gainesville State College, has a MFA in Printmaking
and has also taught various fine art and commercial art courses at UGA,
and the Atlanta College of Art (now SCAD) including: Graphic Design,
Illustration, ReliefIntaglio Printmaking,Beginning and Intermediate Graphics, Beginning and Intermediate Drawing, Digital Photography, Watercolor, andArt Appreciation.
This class is designed for high school students to bolster their portfolios but is open to any adult interested in the course. This class is open to all levels of experience.
