Art in the Square Silent Auction to benefit Challenged Child and Friends This is your opportunity to bid on a beautiful original framed painting on canvas by a talented local artist. Bidding is open from September 1 - October 4, 2008 at Frames You-Nique (104 Main Street, on the Square.) Bidders do not have to be present to win. GAINESVILLE, Ga. (July 3, 2008) – The fifth annual Art in the Square art festival is scheduled for Oct. 4 in Gainesville’s historic downtown. This one-day event features a diverse range of artwork, artists and activities. For children, there will be a Children’s Artist Market, crafts, clowns and face painting and many other art-making activities. Also, about 50 professional and amateur artists will display original artwork done in a wide variety of media. Judge Delores Diaz of North Georgia College and State University will award prizes to the winning works, and a “People’s Choice Award” will be given.
