Dawsonville Artist Featured in National Marine Art Show

Cornell Museum to Host the Opening of The American Society of Marine Artists 15th National Exhibition

October 26, 2011, Delray Beach, FL. The Cornell Museum of Art and American Culture in Delray Beach, FL, is the first of eight museums across the country to host the 15th National Exhibition of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA). The Exhibition, which has over 120 works of art, will open at the Cornell Museum October 27, 2011 and run to January 9, 2012 before traveling nearly 6,000 miles to seven more museums over twenty-two months.

“The National Exhibition of oils, watercolors, acrylics, bronzes and more showing the beauty of the marine world were juried from several hundred entries submitted by ASMA members,” stated Russ Kramer, ASMA President.

Works are from artists in just about every state (plus a few other nations as well) and are brought together in one place for a short time only. Dawsonville artist and Quinlan member Debra Nadelhoffer is the only artist from Georgia that was accepted into this exhibition with her piece “Forgotten Beach” (photo attached). ASMA National exhibitions are held at three-year intervals and take place in public museums. ASMA also holds periodic Regional exhibitions and one will be coming to the Quinlan Visual Arts Center in the summer of 2013 with “Cruising Southern Waters” the first ASMA show ever held in Georgia.
