Also, Dawn Herrington of "Captured to Canvas" will talk about capturing artwork to canvases. She will also explain the process of creating giclees from original artwork. 

February 19, Guest Speaker Jim Chapman will discuss his workshop abroad. Please join us as Jim takes us back to Italy and shares his workshop experience.

The Art League Silent Auction on Art In the Sqaure raises $4,000 for charity Challenged Child & Friends!

Held at Frames You-Nique in downtown Gainesville during the 5th Annual Art In the Square, The Art League held a silent auction that helped charity Challenged Child & Friends raise $4,000! Thank you to artists who donated their artwork which made this fundraising event such a success!

5th Annual Art In the Square Festival

The 5th Annual Art in the Square was on Saturday, October 4th, 2008 in Gainesville’s historic downtown.

This one-day event featured a diverse range of artwork, artists and activities. For children, there will be a Children’s Artist Market, crafts, clowns and face painting and many other art-making activities. Over 50 professional and amateur artists displayed original artwork done in a wide variety of media. Judge Delores Diaz of North Georgia College and State University will award prizes to the winning works, with a “People’s Choice Award” also awarded.

First Place:  Shirley Shepherd - Booth #22 (she has been to all 5 AITS) - watercolors

Second Place:  Stan Suskey - Booth #2 (his first outdoor show) - photographs

Third Place: Amanda Carder - Booth #18 - oil paintings
