General Information 

The Quinlan Visual Arts Center and Brenau University have collaborated to bring you an experience that will surely put your child in the SPOTLIGHT. We invite you to join us in a fun summer experience focusing on acting, production, singing, and dancing.

​SPOTLIGHT: Summer Camp: Where You Shine On-Stage and Backstage - July 8-12, 2024, at the John S. Burd Center for Performing Arts. The camp will culminate with a theatrical performance at Hosch Theater on Friday, July 12th at 6:00pm.

Students will be immersed in learning and understanding movement for stage, enhancing performance skills, identifying, and replicating dance vocabulary, building their skills in set design/light design, costuming/make-up, and more!

CAMP Dates and Fee: July 8-12, 2024 | $200  

Rising 3rd - 7th Grades Only ​
​Time (Monday to Thursday): 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Time (Friday, July 12): 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM (students must stay after performance for striking the theater)

 
Location of Camp: John S. Burd Center for Performing Arts (Brenau University)

​Location of Performance: Hosch Theater housed inside John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts

Performance details: July 12, 2024 | 6:00 PM | Performance will last approximately 45 minutes.


Daily Schedule for Spotlight Camp: ​

Monday at 8:45 AM a mandatory parent/guardian orientation will be held in the lobby of the John S. Burd Center for Performing Arts (Brenau University)
Monday-Thursday
9-9:30 warmup - Theatre
9:30-10:30 - Dance olders/Staging younglings/Tech middles
10:30-10:45 - Break
10:45-12:00 PM - Dance middles/Staging olders/Tech younglings
12:00-12:30 - Lunch
12:30-2:00pm - Dance younglings/Staging middles/Tech olders activities (Costume, make-up, paint/set-design)
​
Friday - Last Day - Rehearsal in morning - Loading theatre in the afternoon - Break – Pizza dinner provided. Performance at 6:00pm; 6:45pm Strike by everyone.


​Please provide snacks and lunch for each day of camp.

    ​​Special Medical Needs: (to assist teachers, if registering 2 children indicate special instructions by child)
    ​Transportation: I understand that we the family, are responsible for arranging all transportation for my child/ren to and from the Quinlan Visual Arts Center camp sessions.
    ​Media Release: I understand that staff photographers and/or television crews will at times be present to photograph or film the Quinlan Visual Arts Center classes, workshops, SPOTLIGHT camp session and exhibitions. I hereby give my permission for resulting promotional photographs and television and/or television footage, which may include my child, to be used for promotional purposes on television, in newspapers, magazines, and press releases, on the arts center website or any other media deemed appropriate by the Board of Trustees of the Quinlan Visual Arts Center.
    *Classroom Policies and Payment Procedures:  SPOTLIGHT at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center is considered a class and therefore all Classroom Policies and Payment Procedures apply (click for detailed information). SPOTLIGHT is non-refundable. No deferred tuition payment system is available, nor may tuition be prorated. The Quinlan is not responsible for classes missed due to student absences.  All instructors reserve the right to remove disruptive influences from their class.  No refund will be given in the event of a dismissal. ​
    REGISTRATION IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL PAYMENT IS MADE. ​
