The mission of the Art League is to support the growth and development of its members by providing opportunities to increase their skills and share their understanding and knowledge of visual arts through exhibition experience, a variety of educational programs and networking with other artists.

Current Art League Show at Peach State Bank 

This show is currently on view on the third floor now through July 17, 2008. Thank you Cheryl Hardin, Linda Blount, Susan White and Debra Yaun for helping to hang this show. The next Art League show at Peach State Bank will go up on July 17th.

Gainesville Library Show

Please go see the beautiful artwork at the Gainesville Main Branch Library on the second floor- artists Cheryl Hardin, Ann Alexander, Elaine Howard, Linda Blount and Nona Stephens. 

Art In the Square, 2008 Date Set!

Please mark your calendar for the 5th Annual Art in the Square on Saturday, October 4th, 2008.

Frames-You-Nique Artist Discount

Art League Meetings: 

The next meeting is July 17 at noon and will be held at Peach State Bank in the third floor conference room. Bring your lunch and a drink, Debra Yaun will be giving a program about some of the new products she has discovered. **This will be the day to take down our art show at the bank and the day to bring 1-3 paintings for the new show at the bank!

Thursday August 21st Meeting at the Quinlan, 12 noon. Bring a lunch, coke machine available to purchase a drink. Mikki Dillon will give the program about her fabulous art work. 

Next Quinlan Art League Show:

Submissions for the next Art League show at the Quinlan will be Wednesday, August 20 from 10AM to 3PM. Please bring 1-3 new pieces of new art works to be judged and hung that afternoon. This show will be up in the downstairs gallery through November 19, 2008. If you are unable to bring your paintings at this time, please contact Anne Brodie Hill to make other arrangements.

Awards were announced at the meeting on March 20, 2008, the juror was Dr. Delores Diaz, Professor of Art Education and Art History at North Georgia College and State University. Dr. Diaz stated that when she judges an art show she looks for the following: Content, Voice, Technique and Impact.

Art League Membership:

As of August, 2007, the Art League now has 108 current members! Any current member of the Quinlan Visual Arts Center can join with an annual dues of $10 to The Art League.  Art League dues are payable to Elaine Howard (information listed below.) Please also confirm that your Quinlan membership is current.

Studio Time:
Every Thursday (except if a class or Art Camp is being held) from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. $5 paid weekly to the Quinlan for use of the space.
