Oil Painting, Painting Alla Prima Workshop with Marc Chatov

Often times it is necessary to form visual ideas quickly and accurately. While painting, many problems occur when there is too much information assimilated at one time. This workshop will focus on simplification of color and shortening of the value range. Less is often more. The workshop will consist of two demonstrations and three days of class painting. Atlanta artist Marc Chatov is the first featured artist to conduct a workshop in 2008.  This workshop will focus on the art of portraiture.  Currently one of the most prominent American portrait artists, Chatov's works are in great demand and can be found in numerous museums, galleries and private collections throughout the United States. He has  studied at Georgia State University under James Sitton, the Art Students League in New York under Michael Burban and Nelson Shanks, and has received the Governors' Artists of Excellence Award.  Marc Chatov is well known for his teaching abilities and skill at demonstrating difficult techniques.

Marc has also exihibited at Mason Murer Art of Atlanta in the Winter of 2008.
