​​Expressive Painting 

Ages 6 - 11 | Saturdays, October 7 - November 11 | 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM ​
Picture
Students will be introduced to a famous artist each week. After looking and discussing observations and thoughts, students will create their own painting inspired by the colors, styles or compositions of the artist studied.  Paintings will be completed in acrylic, tempera, or watercolor on paper or canvas. This will be expressive and messy class so dress for success! Aprons and smocks might not be enough! ​​

​Introduction to Writing and Illustrating Children's Books

Teens and Adults | Saturdays, October 7 - November 11 
​ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM  
What makes a successful children's book? Whether you are a beginner or have written a book and want to pursue publishing, this class will help you hone your skills, edit and critique your work effectively, and understand the story arc's critical benchmarks. The instructor will define the elements that will hook readers and publishers. This class will be fun, creative, and engaging, and we support each other in our writing journey.  ​

Expressive Art as Therapy 

​Teen group: 1:30 PM – 3:15 PM

​Masks are not just for Halloween. This session focuses on working through components of personality with persona and shadow. We can use paint, markers, and other embellishments with paper mache masks.

​​​Expressive arts therapy can awaken creativity and strengthen problem solving skills. This creative experience can inspire self-awareness and enhance overall mood. These benefits can fit anyone. No prior art experience is necessary to enjoy the process of creating. Expressive arts therapy is another way to communicate without words.

Festive Clay and More

Use air dry polymer clays and imagination! Slab, coil, 2D and 3D…add texture, paint, etc. Create possible gifts and keepsakes similar to above photos.
