Arists will produce four 8x10 paintngs, learning a process that takes them from white canvas to finished paintng, with strong brushwork and clean color. This style of “one session” paintng is the polar opposite of fussy, and simple subjects will allow the paint quality to shine. Bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy a demo with Sara. Skill levels from beginner to intermediate welcome.

Learn how to create loose, colorful paintngs in colors that freely bleed and run amok. Then take it a few steps further with the kind of carefree abuse that mingles best with laughter. Sara will bring tools of Art Torture for this part of the process. unexpected results by confident means! Bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy watching Sara do a demo. This open studio class coaches on-going skills in virtually any media, working at a skill level of intermediate to advanced. It will encompass subjects like design, color harmony, values, finishing techniques, strokes and mark-making, depth & focal points, abstracting, capturing a likeness, setting up a still life or portrait, etc. however, the emphasis on this long session is to
work with each artist in their own journey. Sara Oakley, artist in residence at the Art Colony in Gainesville, teaches oil, pastel, watercolor, fluid acrylic and drawing media. She is a 45+ year veteran professional artist whose teaching style leans heavily in the direction of practical advice and demonstrated technique.
