This class will focus on using acrylic paint to capture the beauty of flowers and build color in your paintings. We will start out studying the works of Georgia O’Keeffe and Vincent VanGogh to look at their use of color and technique. We will explore flower meanings to create floral arrangements on our canvas. You will learn about under-paintings, the step you should never forget. They are the foundation to a beautiful painting. Join us as we explore and learn about painting flowers.

Using all your favorite supplies together!If you are like me and have tried many different art techniques, you have lots of supplies. Bring what you have. Bring your acrylic paints, watercolors, colored pencils, pastels, markers… whatever you have and we will learn how to get the most out of them together. I will bring my supplies also, so that we can all experiment. This class is all about breaking the rules and using bits and pieces of all the different media you like to create art with. We will cover all the basics and experiment with layering your media. You’ll learn how they interact with each other.

INTRODUCING JILL HAACK
Jill Haack is an Artist and Art Instructor who loves spending time in her Garden Studio located in North Georgia. She loves nature, in the words of Vincent VanGogh, “If you love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.” Painting is her way to express her creative vision, and how she lives. She loves working with all kinds of media. She worked in Home and Garden Publishing for many years as an Art Director. After her children finished grade school she decided to pursue her love of art and teaching it!
