Two Day Watercolor Portrait Workshop instructed by Suzy Schultz

Times for each day: Friday, October 17 | 6:00 - 9:00 PM Saturday, October 18 | 10:30 - 6:00 PM Workshop fee: $320 Learn the basics of portrait painting in watercolor from a photograph. Students will cover the basics of completing a drawing, loose washes, drybrush technique and color mixing, as well as tips before the class for getting a good photo reference. Suzy will demonstrate painting a portrait, and work individually with students. Although the workshop is for all levels of skill, some drawing and watercolor experience required. Bring your own photo. |
Three Day Still Life Workshop instructed by Dr. Sivananda Nyayapathi ARCALM, OPA

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 5, 6, and 7, 2025
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Workshop fee: $650 The workshop will concentrate on the concepts and principles of composition in still life painting and how to execute them effectively. The first part of the workshop will include a presentation followed by a live demonstration. Participants will then create their own still-life arrangements using items they bring or materials available at Quinlan.
Starting on the second day, participants will focus on bringing their compositions to life. They will receive one-on-one critiques and guidance as they progress. |

Four Day Portrait Painting in Oils Workshop instructed by Abner Cope

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, March 17, 18 , 19 , and 20, 2026
9:30 AM - 4:30 PM $260 plus a $35 modeling fee This workshop is designed to help artists enhance their skills in painting portraits. Painting from the live model, artists will employ various techniques for developing accurate proportions, and the proper placement of the model on the canvas. Participants will receive instructions on starting the portrait with a solid structural drawing done in monochromatic lines and tones on a stained canvas. Instruction will be based on demonstrations, discussions, and individual critiques.

Whatever medium you paint in or whether you paint in plein air or the studio, this workshop will give you the tools you need to compose and design compelling paintings. A morning of inspiring information followed by applying what we are learning in the field will prepare you to move forward artistically with more confidence.
