Karyl, Kay, Debra, Laurie, Margaret and Suzanne
"The Six"
The Six are comprised of six contemporary and abstract Georgia artists Marc West, Kelly Morgenstern, Alan Stecker, David Wendel, Douglas Fromm and Yasharel Manzy. This exhibit showcases their individual approaches which are quite diverse in both image-making and craft, ranging from oil and acrylic to mixed media to digitally-manipulated color photography resulting in imagery ranging from contemporary to abstract artworks. In addition to the notion that these artists are equally passionate about making their art, they also use color not only as a basic element of good design, but often as a motivation by the paint and the color itself as the initial starting point of creating their images, rather than using drawing as an approach to their compositions. I-phone Fayum Portrait Recreations by John Bavaro
The recreations of the Fayum Portraits are made from John's iPhone drawings. All are printed photo tranfers on gel medium, placed on weathered wood, with resin, beeswax and gold leaf embellishments. Another Blooming Art Show
Another Blooming Art Show florals by Cheri Burchard and Catherine Pichon.
Cheri Burchard began her art career in Pennsylvania at the age of nine. Cheri has continued to create art ever since. An impressionistic painting in her childhood home influenced Cheri's direction in art. After graduating from college, her formal art experience included training at the Louvre, the School of Fine Arts in Mexico City, The Cape Cod School of Art, and Ghost Ranch. Catherine Pichon's landscapes, still life and floral paintings are inspired by her native Appalachian Mountains. Her works are in watercolor, acrylic, and oil pastel but watercolor is her favorite medium. She has studied under many nationally known artists and her work can be found in galleries and shows across the region. |
